Fuel & surcharge

Due to changes in the average monthly price of unleaded gasoline, R Courier’s fuel surcharge is adjusted according to the Dynamic Fuel Surcharge Table below.
Note: Depending on base charges, surcharge amounts may vary by customer. This percentage may not apply to all clients. For questions about your specific surcharge, please contact sales@rcourier.com.
The surcharge is updated on the first day of  each month. R Courier’s fuel surcharge for courier services is set monthly, based on the average price of regular and premium unleaded gasoline. The Dynamic Fuel Surcharge Table below shows the surcharge applied to shipments, based on the average monthly pump price calculated by R Courier.
Changes to the fuel surcharge take effect on the first day of each month and are posted at rcourier.com approximately one week before the effective date. The fuel surcharge  applies to all courier shipments tendered to R Courier, regardless of destination or mode of transport, and is applied to the sum of the base shipping rate, additional weight charges, rural charges, and beyond-point charges. Premium service surcharges, administrative surcharges, and taxes are excluded from this calculation. 
Fuel represents a significant variable cost in providing transportation services. A variable fuel
surcharge allows R Courier to avoid frequent changes to its base rates, while letting the overall cost of shipping move with the market price of fuel. R Courier’s fuel surcharge adjusts automatically based on changes in the market price of unleaded gasoline, giving customers an easy-to- understand basis for changes (up or down) in the surcharge. In addition to these automatic adjustments, R Courier’s fuel surcharge may be adjusted if R Courier changes the surcharge trigger point ranges or associated percentages set out in the table below.
